Amazing kitchen refurbishment in Cardiff

Mr and Mrs Holland had lived with a deteriorating kitchen for years in their beautiful Victorian terrace home. Like many houses of this type, the kitchen sat in a single-skin brick rear addition, with a concrete slab floor under quarry tiles — cold, damp and draughty, and entirely unsuited to modern family life. Life, as it does, kept pushing the renovation down the list, until decades later, with the children nearly grown, the time was finally right.

After discussing extensions and wall removal, the decision was made to stay within the existing footprint and focus on making the very best of the space. That meant deconstructing the old kitchen entirely, building a new insulated floor, insulating the walls with a vapour barrier, and renewing the electrics and plumbing — work most kitchen retailers leave entirely to the customer. We handled every element in-house: building, plumbing, electrical and decoration, alongside the kitchen design and installation itself.

The finished kitchen features solid wood fronts in a light teal shaker style, handmade by our own skilled team in Wales — a stylish, robust kitchen that's added real value to a much-loved family home.
