Classic shaker kitchen in shades of grey

Mr and Mrs Walters of Llandow had searched long and hard to find a kitchen retailer offering the level of design skill they were really after. They needed a designer that could deliver something genuinely on-trend, while still creating a classic look that would stay relevant for years, not just seasons. That search led them to Your Space Living, Jo Buckerfield and to this beautiful shaker kitchen in shades of grey.

The room itself was modest in size, but needed to work as a cooking space and a place for eating and socialising. This brief called for a complete rethink of the original layout, and the kind of bespoke approach very few kitchen retailers genuinely offer. Jo Buckerfield's formal education in furniture design, paired with years of bespoke problem-solving, shaped a room that feels entirely original rather than a standard layout squeezed into a smaller footprint.

Jo worked closely with Mr and Mrs Walters on every material and colour decision, right down to handmade blinds and cushions sourced in collaboration with interior designer Elaine Jones. Elaine added the finishing touches that give the room its 'wow' factor. It's proof that a compact kitchen, designed properly, can feel every bit as considered and complete as a much larger room.
