Mr and Mrs Bolt of Ystradowen wanted to make the absolute most of their new kitchen extension. The explored a genuinely wide range of design options before settling on this gloss German kitchen in subtle shades of grey. The high-gloss finish adds real shine and a true sense of luxury to the room, while a Silestone Desert Silver quartz worktop by Cosentino provides the finishing touch.

Maximising storage without letting the cabinets dominate the room was a key part of the brief. We solved this by building stud walls directly around the cabinetry, so the units appear to be part of the room's original structure rather than furniture added into the room. The result is a timeless design flexible enough to be accessorised however the family chooses over time.

Storage mattered just as much as style: Mr and Mrs Bolt wanted generous capacity with a minimal visual footprint, so we specified extra-wide drawer cabinets with as few joins and handles as possible. Sturdy runners and soft-close mechanisms make every drawer genuinely practical day to day. It's proof that striking design and serious everyday function can sit comfortably in the very same kitchen.
