German Kitchen in White

Mr and Mrs Arnold's Whitchurch kitchen was only eight years old, but they'd never liked it. Jumbled, awkward and out of date, it also had a genuine practical headache: two bathroom waste pipes running through the room that the original designer had simply boxed in with extra units, cluttering the whole space.

We took a different approach. Rather than disguising the pipework with more furniture, we built a false wall with integrated bookshelves around one pipe and a slim, simple boxing around the other. This solved the problem while keeping every storage unit at base level and removing the cluttered feeling for good. German units in Nova White were paired with warm grey Corian worktops and a Corian Mixa sink, ready for a boiling water tap.

It's a clean, confident galley kitchen that finally works with the room's real constraints instead of fighting them. This is the difference a proper design process makes: the same awkward pipework that once dictated an entire cluttered layout became, with the right thinking, something you'd barely notice at all.
