Luxurious white shaker kitchen in Llantwit Major

Jo and Ian's grade two listed home in Llantwit Major is beautiful. Unfortunately, the original kitchen needed a large dose of TLC to match the rest of the house. With only two small windows and high courtyard walls, natural light was in short supply, leaving the original layout feeling somewhat claustrophobic in an already compact space.

Our qualified designer, Jo Buckerfield, set about creating a space that was light, functional and genuinely in keeping with the building's character. The solid wood painted white shaker cabinetry opened the room up dramatically, with a graphite grey island adding contrast and Silestone worktops helping bounce light around the space. Integrated seating created a compact dining area exactly where Jo and Ian had requested.

Listed buildings bring genuinely unique challenges: the centuries-old stone walls made drilling an extractor outlet hole a genuine test of endurance for our fitting team.
