Luxury master bathroom in Cowbridge

This simple, clean and understated master bathroom was the finishing touch to a stunning Cowbridge home where we'd already transformed the kitchen and ensuite over previous years — we were delighted to be called back. The original room was dated, with busy tiling and poor coordination, and this young family with a genuine eye for good design wanted it overhauled to a high standard, while staying mindful of a budget already stretched by other renovations in the house.

Keeping services mostly in their existing positions, and reducing the overall tile count from the original design, kept costs firmly under control without limiting the ambition of the result. An integrated, back-to-wall toilet keeps the look clean and minimalist, while an illuminated bath-side niche allowed for wall-mounted taps and a genuinely seamless finish. Oak-effect ceramic floor tiles bring natural warmth against neutral brick-bonded wall tiles.

Many clients live with a builder's original bathroom for years, making do simply because it's 'just a bathroom' — and are always delighted, often wishing they'd acted sooner, once they finally do.
