Master shower room transformation in Cardiff

When Sue bought her Cardiff home, the master shower room included an enclosed steam-room style shower. Although functional, it had become increasingly difficult to maintain and was making the room feel enclosed and dated. Rather than simply replacing the existing fittings, we saw an opportunity to completely redesign the space and create a much lighter, more open shower room.

Removing the bulky steam enclosure immediately transformed the proportions of the room. A full glass shower enclosure allows natural light to travel across the space, while white metro tiles provide a bright backdrop. Patterned blue floor tiles introduce colour and personality, complemented by a blue vanity unit and carefully selected black brassware. We also retained the existing corner cupboard at Sue's request, giving it a new lease of life with some simple refurbishment and paint.

Budget was an important consideration throughout the design process, so the focus was on achieving maximum impact without unnecessary extravagance. The finished shower room demonstrates our approach perfectly: thoughtful design, quality products and careful use of the available budget. The result is a stylish, practical space that feels dramatically different from the dated room that was there before.
