Colin's hilltop home in Penarth looks directly across Cardiff Bay. His home was undergoing a full renovation, with the aim of opening the ground floor into a single, connected space that made the most of the view below.
The kitchen is by Pronorm and features the Y-Line handless rail system. The tall units are finished in high-specification walnut veneer, whose depth of grain and fine vertical detailing give the room a calm, architectural backdrop. Below, Pronorm's Organic Glass base units provide a soft, matte contrast. They keep the lines low and uncluttered, so the windows and the view remain the focus. The Dekton worktop and veneered breakfast bar add the finishing touch to a stunning kitchen.
The appliances are by Miele, including an induction hob with built-in extraction. It keeps the worktop clear and the sightline to the bay uninterrupted.
We also completed the adjacent utility room, a hard-working space in its own right. It is fitted throughout with Pronorm cabinets and Fisher & Paykel appliances, with a bold glass splashback adding a welcome note of colour.
Coordinated as part of the wider renovation, the result is a kitchen and utility that feel considered from the first detail to the last, in a home that now makes the most of its setting.
