Shower room design in Porthcawl

When Juliet first approached us about renovating her beachfront apartment in Porthcawl, the project began with the kitchen and living space. As we explored the possibilities and considered how best to use the available budget, the plans evolved into a much more comprehensive refurbishment, including the bedroom and bathroom. The existing bathroom was dominated by a large bath, while the bedroom's ensuite was taking up valuable space.

The decision was eventually made to remove the ensuite completely and transform the original bathroom into a luxurious shower room. This gave us considerably more scope to create a practical and spacious-feeling room, while allowing Juliet to focus on how she actually uses the space. Since she much prefers showering to taking baths, removing the bath was a straightforward decision once the different layout options had been explored.

The finished Porthcawl shower room combines a marble-effect tile with contrasting black details and a patterned floor. Multifaceted hexagonal tiles add texture to the shower area and illuminated wall niche, while bespoke shelving and a ribbed vanity unit bring individuality to the design. The result is a bright, sophisticated bathroom that makes far better use of the available space while retaining a timeless feel.
