Stunning beach front bedroom

Waking up beside the sea is a wonderful privilege, but Juliet's beachfront apartment in Porthcawl had a bedroom that no longer lived up to its spectacular setting. The room was dated and the poorly ventilated ensuite shower had caused significant moisture damage. As part of the wider apartment renovation, we saw an opportunity to completely rethink the space and create a bedroom that felt calm, warm and luxurious.

The first major decision was to remove the ensuite. Although this meant losing a bathroom, the space could be put to much better use in a relatively compact bedroom. Removing the enclosure allowed us to create considerably more wardrobe and storage space, while giving the room a much cleaner and more generous feel. The design was developed around Juliet's personal style and the overall budget for the multi-room renovation.

The new UK-made wardrobes feature a sophisticated grey stone finish with contrasting walnut interiors and detailing. To add warmth and texture, we introduced Nature Wall panelling across the main feature wall. The felt-backed panels also provide acoustic benefits, while creating a striking alternative to a traditional headboard. The finished bedroom feels contemporary and elegant, with a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complements its beachfront location.
