Victorian bathroom renovation in Cardiff

When Richard and Samantha came to us, they knew their bathroom needed a significant overhaul. Their Victorian terraced home in Cardiff was a work in progress. The kitchen had been updated some years before and most of the other rooms were tastefully decorated. The bathroom, however, had not fared so well. Time had taken its toll, and the room needed repair as much as it needed styling.

This went well beyond a cosmetic refit. The floor, walls and ceiling all had to be replaced, and each was levelled and made true before any of the designed features could be fitted. That meant a considerable amount of preparation by our bathroom team before the new room could take shape.

The walls are largely clad in Mandarin Stone’s Hoxton Bottle Green tile, while the floor is laid in Fritz Black Marble in a chequerboard pattern with a twist. Brass hardware runs throughout, from the traditional radiator to the cylindrical wall lamps. The traditional styling is balanced by modern technology, including a Geberit AquaClean Alba toilet with concealed cistern.
